| Wolvercote Primary School, Oxford are cutting carbon by going Solar. The school contracted JHS Power Solutions to install a 4.212 kWp solar PV(photovoltaic) system, which generates electricity for general use around the school and will export electricity in the holiday periods. With a bright display system installed in the IT room the children and staff are able to see how much carbon they are saving each day. The 26 panels installed will generate about 3500 kWh per year saving around 2000kg of CO2 per year. The school, with the help of JHS Power Solutions, were able to secure a 50% grant towards the cost of the system from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase 2. |

| PV installation helps Ashley C of E school achieve SEEDA award
Mr Richard Dunne, head of Ashley Primary School, Walton-on-Thames, has been awarded a prestigious INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY award by SEEDA (South East England Development Agency). | Solar Power a better investment than a savings account... Mr Ashley Seager, Economics Correspondent at The Guardian newspaperr told the nation that the solar option is "…now at least as good, if not better, than sticking spare cash in a building society". Drawing on rising energy costs, the benefit of a potential 9% added property value with solar, and the lifetime of a system, the article strongly questions “why the government is so keen on boosting nuclear again”. | JHS install Solar Photovoltaic Panels on Newbury Town Hall Newbury Town Council are pleased to announce that 26 Solar Photovoltaic panels have been successfully installed on the roof of Newbury Town Hall. Cllr Ian Grose, Leader of the Council said “It is important that Newbury Town Council sets an example in these days where the use of renewable energy is so important for the future of the planet. Solar PV installed at Walton-on-Thames School![]() JHS Power Solutions have recently installed a 4.212 kW Solar PV system at the Primary School in Walton on Thames. The system, using Sharp solar panels, was installed over a weekend. The headmaster is creating a low carbon school and has had a Wood Chip boiler and now PV to be followed by Solar hot water. |
