Case study
Sanyo Sunpack SY10
Paul and Clare of Stonehouse Gloucestershire have a new
Sanyo Sunpack.
Their Sunpack will generate 1,600 kilowatt hours of electricity each year-enough for around 675 loads of washing.
With a grant from the government (EST) the cost to them was less than £6,000
The system is connected to the national grid, so all of the electricity that they generate is sold back to their electricity supplier (even if they are using it).
When they are not generating (at night) they buy it back from their electricity supplier. And by choosing to locate the display meter in the hall everyone can see how much electricity is being generated and the CO2 emissions being prevented.
A similar sized system of 1.72kWp would now consist of only 8 x Sanyo 215 panels and would cost around £6,400 including VAT @ 5% after any grant. Please note: prices are indicative only.
